This was a live performance a year after their album Sound of Silence was released. Notice that it is played as the original acoustic version.
This version has the added drums and electric bass which was put the song in the category of folk rock.
In this video we see Paul Simon, with an absent Art Garfunkel, performing one of their greatest hits. It is rare to see Simon playing this piece without Garfunkel, as it became famous with the both of them.
